WHEELCHAIR TECHNICIAN
Miller's Rental & Sales, Inc.
Cleveland, OH | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
No healthcare experience required. We train the right person. ——————————————————————————
We hire wheelchair technicians from the trades — HVAC, electrical, automotive, manufacturing, equipment service. If you're the kind of person who takes ownership of their work, takes pride in precision, and shows up ready to do things correctly every single day, you already have what we're looking for. We'll teach you everything else.
This is a field-based, independent position. You'll be assembling and modifying complex power and manual wheelchairs, attending client fittings alongside our Assistive Technology Professionals, delivering equipment to homes and care facilities, and making real-time adjustments that help people live more independently. Your job is to make sure the hardware is right, the fit is right, and the client and their family know how to use what you've built.
——————————————————————————
WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY
——————————————————————————
Assemble, modify, and repair manual and power wheelchairs and custom seating systems to exact specifications
- Attend client fittings and evaluation clinics alongside our ATP and therapy teams, making precise on-the-spot adjustments
- Deliver equipment to clients' homes, nursing facilities, and hospitals — set it up correctly and walk clients and caregivers through how to use it
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues on power chairs, drive systems, and seating components
- Maintain detailed records of service, repairs, and equipment tracking — accuracy in documentation matters as much as accuracy in the shop
——————————————————————————
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
——————————————————————————
We care more about how you work than where you've worked. Candidates we've hired came from HVAC, auto repair, equipment service, and construction trades. What they had in common wasn't their background — it was how they approached their work. You're the right fit if:
- You do your work completely. You don't rush past the last step because no one is watching. You check your work because it matters to you.
- You're reliable without being reminded. You show up on time, do what you said you'd do, and follow through on tasks from start to finish without needing someone to track you.
- You take ownership of your quality. When something isn't right, you fix it — not because someone told you to, but because leaving it wrong isn't something you're comfortable with.
- You're comfortable working independently. You manage your own day in the field, solve problems on the fly, and don't need constant direction to stay productive.
- You're steady under pressure. Competing priorities, changing schedules, and demanding situations don't rattle you. You adjust and keep moving.
- You genuinely care about the people you serve. This equipment isn't going into a warehouse. It's going to a person who depends on it. That should mean something to you.
- You're a learner. You're curious enough to keep getting better at your craft and humble enough to know there's always more to learn. ——————————————————————————
