A loving family in Northridge, CA (91325) is seeking a long-term Nanny/Household Assistant to provide care for their three children, ages 10, 7, and 4, beginning immediately.
Note: Two of the children (ages 7 and 10) are on the autism spectrum and are high-functioning in general education classrooms.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 9:00 PM · 2-3 Saturdays a month, 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM · Flexibility for occasional adjustments as needed
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Arrive on time and assist with light household tasks before picking up children from school, including tidying children's spaces and preparing for the afternoon routine.
- Pick up the children from school at 3pm, transport them to activities, and ensure safe, reliable transportation throughout the day.
- Prepare simple, family-style meals and snacks, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen by washing family dishes and resetting eating areas.
- Provide attentive, nurturing, and developmentally focused care while encouraging positive behavior through gentle redirection, creativity, and consistent routines.
- Assist with evening routines, including dinner, baths, brushing teeth, administering medications when needed, and preparing the children for bed.
- Support the household with tasks, including organizing, grocery unloading, returns, monitoring children's clothing and shoe sizes, package breakdown, researching family activities and children's resources when requested, and other family errands as needed.
- Maintain a safe environment at all times, including confidently supervising children around the family's pool (strong swimming skills required).
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a female who is creative, punctual, responsible, reliable, and honest, and who knows how to swim, as the family has a pool. She is collaborative and supportive, respecting the parents' decisions.This person is enthusiastic about assisting with daily routines and household tasks. The candidate must have experience with high-functioning autism children ages 6-11. Must also have experience with refusal behaviors and can positively turn the refusal into acceptance. Someone with ABA therapy training is preferred.
Must be fully vaccinated: (TDAP, TB, COVID, Boosters, Flu)
Compensation: $30-32/hr
