Performance Examination – Date: TBDThe Performance Examination will consist of document creation/revision utilizing Microsoft Office Excel 2010, as well as an on-line multiple choice examination assessing fundamental knowledge for the position. For those passing the Performance Examination: 3. Structured Oral Interview – Date TBDThe Structured Oral Interview will be before a panel and contain questions that assess technical knowledge, experience, and one's general fitness for successful performance in the position. A total score will be computed using weighted scores on all testing components. Applicants must receive a passing score on the oral examination to be placed on the year-long eligibility list. The top 3 ranks (scores) on the eligibility list are eligible for the hiring interview for each vacancy in this classification within the life of the list.BASIC POSITION FUNCTIONTo perform professional level accounting and complex professional accounting duties related to financial analysis and preparation of required financial reports; assist in budget development and control; review and implement laws and District policies; train department personnel and perform a variety of other duties relative to assigned area of responsibility.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Performs complex and technical accounting work in the maintenance of records of revenues, appropriations, expenditures and special funds; schedules journal vouchers and reconciliations to produce accurate periodic reports for assigned funds; analyzes cost data and prepares project accounting reports.Compiles annual revenue buget for District funds; prepares projections of revenues, budget estimates and supporting schedules; monitors and reports on budget and revenue account status.Analyzes and interprets new state and Federal legislation pertaining to numerous income schedules to determine impact on new or existing programs;Gathers, reviews and analyzes data pertinent to problem areas assigned for study such as use of salary savings, projected budgetary impact of proposed course of action, compliance of fiscal procedures with applicable statutes and regulations;Performs internal audits of income and expenditures and checks and reviews all district accounts including student body funds that may have a major impact on the financial status of various programs;Compiles data for financial reports requiring application of accounting principles and judgment;Assists in administrative and financial analyses and verification of fiscal reports and statements, expenditures, revenues and other financial transactions;Analyzes documents, reports and records concerned with various state apportionments, tax rates, reimbursements and expenditures;Prepares profit and loss statements applicable to special programs;Performs related duties as required.
