Your Role at Chick-fil-A
The Shift Leader is responsible for leading the execution of Restaurant operations during assigned shifts while upholding Chick-fil-A’s standards for food quality, service, cleanliness, and hospitality.
This role serves as the frontline leader for the shift, ensuring the team operates efficiently, guests receive exceptional service, and Restaurant systems and standards are consistently followed.
Shift Leaders are responsible for directing Team Members, solving operational challenges in real time, and ensuring the Restaurant performs at a high level during their shift.
Work Environment
The physical work environment includes working in a fast-paced restaurant setting that requires extended periods of physical activity such as walking, standing, lifting, and bending while interacting with guests and Team Members.
The role includes both indoor and outdoor work in varied temperatures and conditions, working with and around food products, common allergens, commercial kitchen equipment, and cleaning supplies that may require the use of personal protective equipment. The position also requires the physical ability to perform the operational responsibilities of the Restaurant.
Your Impact and Responsibilities

Shift Leadership & Execution

Ensures Restaurant operations meet Chick-fil-A’s standards in all areas during a shift

Serves as Manager on Duty (MOD) when assigned and opens or closes the Restaurant

Directs and positions Team Members throughout the shift to ensure strong operational flow

Monitors service speed, order accuracy, food quality, and guest experience

Responds quickly to operational challenges and adjusts staffing or positioning as needed

Ensures the Restaurant remains clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times
Team Leadership

Provides clear direction and support to Team Members during shifts

Models Chick-fil-A hospitality and service standards

Encourages strong team performance through recognition and positive reinforcement

Addresses performance or behavioral issues promptly and appropriately

Creates a positive, energetic, and team-focused shift environment
Operational Accountability

Ensures Restaurant policies and procedures are followed consistently

Completes required operational checklists, logs, and shift documentation

Manages cash handling and ensures proper accountability procedures are followed

Authorizes Team Member functions requiring manager approval (e.g., discounts, promotions, order corrections)

Ensures food safety and workplace safety standards are maintained throughout the shift

Reports operational issues or opportunities to Restaurant Leadership
Guest Experience

Provides exceptional guest service and ensures guests receive a remarkable experience

Qualifications

Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing

Knowledge and skills in staffing, scheduling, people and cost management

Proficient in a variety of technology systems including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) and ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly

Able to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings and weekends and travel as needed for work-related functions and training

Must complete all required Chick-fil-A company training programs

1+ years of restaurant or retail management experience, QSR or Fast Casual preferred
-
Professional fluency in both English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing) is highly preferred, with the ability to assist Spanish-speaking customers and staff seamlessly

Must be 18 years of age or older
-
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
