Service Printer Field Technician (Full-Time Travel Position)
General Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Service Printer Field Technician to join our growing Field Operations team. This is a full-time travel position requiring approximately 95% travel and 5% hybrid/home office work. Technicians are based in their local area but travel extensively throughout assigned regional and national territories to support customer and retail partner locations.
In this role, you will diagnose, repair, install, and maintain a variety of printing and photo center technologies, including wide format printers, stationery printers, dry inkjet minilabs, simplex printers, dye-sublimation equipment, kiosks, controllers, and supporting infrastructure. When not traveling, administrative responsibilities such as reporting, scheduling, training, and expense management may be completed remotely.
This position is ideal for a self-motivated professional who enjoys travel, excels at troubleshooting complex equipment, and delivers exceptional customer service while working independently in the field.
This position reports to the Field Operations Supervisor.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Travel approximately 95% of the time to customer and retail partner locations throughout assigned regional and national territories.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on wide format printers, stationery printers, dry inkjet minilabs, simplex printers, kiosks, controllers, dye-sublimation equipment, and related technologies.
- Install, configure, and maintain telecommunications systems and equipment infrastructure.
- Perform equipment installations, upgrades, relocations, and decommissioning projects.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company policies, customer requirements, and safety standards.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, store personnel, and internal support teams.
- Troubleshoot technical issues efficiently while minimizing customer downtime.
- Lead and direct helper technicians when assigned, ensuring adherence to company procedures and safety practices.
- Maintain accurate service documentation, work orders, inventory records, expense reports, and travel documentation.
- Complete administrative responsibilities remotely during non-travel periods (approximately 5% hybrid/home office).
- Maintain flexibility to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, overnight travel, and extended assignments as business needs require.
- Represent the company professionally while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer service.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience repairing and servicing printers, including inkjet and dye-sublimation equipment.
- Minimum of two (2) years of field service, equipment installation, or comparable technical experience.
- Experience troubleshooting electromechanical equipment preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Reliable transportation to and from airports, customer locations, and assigned work sites.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check, motor vehicle record review, and drug screening.
- Ability to obtain certifications required for aerial lift operation.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (approximately 95%), including overnight and multi-day travel assignments.

Travel Requirements
This is a full-time travel position. Approximately 95% of working time is spent traveling to customer locations throughout assigned territories, with the remaining 5% performed remotely (hybrid/home office) for administrative tasks, reporting, training, scheduling, and other operational responsibilities. Candidates should be comfortable with frequent overnight travel and flexible scheduling based on customer and business needs.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
