Duties
- Assist in planning, organizing, and leading cheerleading practices and performances
- Support the lead coach in teaching cheerleading techniques, stunts, jumps, and routines
- Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive behavior among team members
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all activities, including proper spotting and use of equipment
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding schedules, progress, and concerns
- Help manage behavior issues and maintain a respectful, inclusive environment
- Support the development of physical skills through sports-specific training instruction such as gymnastics or martial arts techniques
Requirements
- Prior experience with cheerleading or related sports such as gymnastics or dance is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work with children and adolescents in a coaching or teaching capacity
- Knowledge of cheerleading stunts, jumps, tumbling, or dance techniques is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to motivate students and collaborate with team members and parents
- First aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire (AED operation knowledge is a plus)
- Experience working with sports teams or in sports coaching environments such as soccer or basketball coaching is beneficial
- Background in martial arts (e.g., karate), climbing, or gymnastics enhances coaching versatility
- Ability to promote a positive attitude while managing behavior effectively in a lively environment
- Enthusiasm for physical activity, health club experience, or gym experience is advantageous
