Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities
- Assist individuals with daily tasks such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Support individuals in participating in community activities and social interactions
- Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents
- Drive residents to appointments, outings, and activities as needed
Skills:
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, their families, and other team members
- Ability to follow instructions and implement care plans accurately
- Patience, empathy, and compassion when working with individuals with special needs
- Ability to lift heavy objects or assist with lifting individuals when necessary
- Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for individuals' needs
