Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate person with medical experience to join our Practice. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients seeking medical advice and support through phone or digital communication channels. Your expertise in patient care, medical terminology, and clinical procedures will ensure accurate assessment and appropriate guidance for a diverse patient population. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your clinical skills in outpatient, urgent care, or hospital medicine settings, contributing directly to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction. You will work closely with healthcare providers to facilitate efficient patient intake, vital signs collection, and documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, all while maintaining a lively and motivating work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer high-volume incoming phone calls with professionalism and empathy, providing accurate information and scheduling appointments as needed.
- Triage patient needs efficiently, assessing urgency and escalating to providers or appropriate team members.
- Facilitate clear communication between patients and providers, relaying messages, updates, and instructions promptly.
- Support insurance quality measures by reviewing records, following up on required documentation, and ensuring compliance with payer guidelines.
- Assist with direct patient care tasks, such as rooming patients, taking vitals, and preparing for exams when time allows.
- Make outbound clinical calls during downtime to follow up on patient results, medication reminders, or care coordination.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Medical Secretary program preferred.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting, with strong emphasis on phone-based customer service.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic medical terminology.
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
