Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including examinations, cleanings, and surgeries
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
- Manage electronic health records accurately and efficiently to ensure seamless patient documentation
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions
- Monitor patient vital signs and assist with critical care situations when necessary, utilizing skills such as CPR and basic life support (BLS)
- Handle manual tasks such as positioning patients comfortably and assisting with dental radiology diagnostics (diagnostic radiology)
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and sterilization procedures to uphold safety standards
Experience
- Prior experience in critical care environments or acute care settings is highly valued, demonstrating your ability to handle urgent situations confidently
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) and CPR is required to ensure preparedness for emergency responses
- Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) or electronic medical records (EMR) systems enhances efficiency in documentation processes
- Hands-on experience with surgical assistance, including plastic surgery or other specialized procedures, is a plus
- Familiarity with manual handling techniques ensures safe patient positioning and equipment management
- Knowledge of diagnostic radiology enhances your ability to assist with imaging procedures crucial for accurate diagnoses
