Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of material handling equipment, including reach trucks, forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo forklifts, to efficiently load, unload, and organize inventory within our distribution center. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of warehouse management systems, inventory control, and safety standards in production environments. Responsibilities
- Operate forklift equipment such as reach trucks, load & unload trucks, and pallet jacks in accordance with OSHA and safety standards.
- Manage inventory through accurate barcode scanning and warehouse management system entries.
- Pick orders efficiently using order picker and <PERSON> picker techniques to meet shipping deadlines.
- Load and unload materials with precision, ensuring proper manual handling and heavy lifting procedures.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or coordinate maintenance as needed to ensure safe operation.
- Assist with shipping & receiving processes by verifying shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhering to safety protocols for heavy equipment operation.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by managing materials handling tasks and supporting warehouse supervisor directives.
- Utilize warehouse experience to optimize storage solutions and improve overall warehouse workflow.
- Follow all safety standards in production environments to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience operating forklift types such as reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks within a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning technology for logistics purposes.
- Familiarity with inventory management procedures including order picking, shipping & receiving, and materials handling.
- Experience in warehouse supervision or team leadership is a plus but not required.
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation, manual handling, and warehouse safety protocols.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements, weight calculations, and inventory counts.
- Prior experience with equipment repair or basic troubleshooting is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining productivity standards.
