Metal Finisher – Staining & Patina Specialist

Seal Tex is a Dallas-based fabricator of custom railings, gates, signage, and architectural metalwork. We’re looking for a Metal Finisher to join our shop — someone who already has an eye for color and enjoys hands-on finish work. You’ll apply stains, dyes, and patinas to decorative metal pieces to achieve custom colors and finishes on railings, gates, signage, and architectural metalwork.
What You’ll Do
- Prep decorative metal pieces for staining and finishing
- Mix and blend stains, dyes, and patina solutions to match custom color specs
- Apply finishes by brush, rag, spray, or other technique as the piece requires
- Inspect finished work for color consistency and quality
- Keep the finishing station organized and running smoothly
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for candidates with hands-on experience in at least one of the following:
- Staining or finishing wood, furniture, or cabinetry
- Painting (auto body, sign painting, faux/decorative finishing, fine art, etc.)
- Metal fabrication, welding, or metalworking
- Working with patinas, dyes, or custom color-matching
- A portfolio or photos of finish/color work you’re proud of — bring them to your interview!
This is a skilled finish-work role, not general labor. We’ll train you on our specific process, materials, and shop standards, but you should already be comfortable mixing colors, reading a finish, and working with your hands.
Pay
$18.00–$20.00 per hour
