Duties
- Assist with the preparation and setup of construction sites, including unloading materials and organizing tools
- Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and machinery such as concrete mixers, pumps, and forklifts safely and efficiently
- Perform heavy lifting tasks to move materials, equipment, and supplies around the site
- Install rebar (reinforcing steel bars) for concrete structures following schematics and blueprints
- Execute concrete forming, finishing, pouring, and curing processes to ensure quality results
- Support carpentry tasks including framing, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, and roofing installations
- Carry out masonry work such as bricklaying, stucco application, tile laying, and restoration projects
- Read blueprints and schematics accurately to assist with layout and installation tasks
- Apply plastering, caulking, and other finishing techniques to enhance structural integrity and aesthetics
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing materials and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
Qualifications
- Prior experience working on construction sites or in related roles is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge of tools, equipment operation, and basic construction principles
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with confidence
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, heavy machinery, and specialized equipment such as concrete pumps or welding gear
- Knowledge of concrete finishing techniques including pouring, troweling, and curing processes
- Familiarity with various construction trades including masonry, carpentry (frame and trim), roofing, stucco application, flooring installation (tile or other materials), and restoration work
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining good physical condition
- Valid driver’s license with commercial driving experience is a plus for operating heavy equipment or transporting materials
- Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively on-site
