The Kafka Platform Engineer is responsible for engineering, administering, and enhancing the enterprise Kafka platform.
The platform serves as the strategic event-streaming backbone for real-time data movement, application integration, and event-driven architectures across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop Kafka producers, consumers, and stream-processing solutions.
Administer Kafka clusters, topics, brokers, consumer groups, and connectors.
Deploy and manage Kafka Connect integrations.
Configure Schema Registry, ACLs, RBAC, TLS, and platform security controls.
Develop custom connectors using Java and Spring Boot.
Build automated deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
Deploy Kafka workloads to OpenShift and Kubernetes environments.
Monitor platform health using Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace, and Splunk.
Support CDC integrations using Oracle GoldenGate and Debezium.
Drive platform standardization, automation, and self-service enablement.
