Position Summary
The Capsule Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring encapsulation equipment to produce dietary supplement capsules according to batch records, SOPs, and cGMP requirements. This role ensures capsules are filled accurately, consistently, and safely while meeting quality and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up capsule machines (e.g., semi-automatic or automatic encapsulators) according to batch record requirements.
- Verify correct capsule size, type, and color before production.
- Load powders or blends into the machine, monitoring fill weight and capsule integrity.
- Adjust machine settings for weight, speed, and alignment to maintain consistent output.
- Conduct in-process checks including capsule weight variation, count accuracy, and appearance.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, jams, or misfeeds during production.
- Document all production activities in batch records accurately and completely.
- Clean and sanitize encapsulation equipment per SOPs to prevent cross-contamination.
- Report equipment malfunctions, deviations, or safety issues to supervisor immediately.
- Follow GMP, allergen control, and company safety standards at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience operating encapsulation equipment preferred (but training available).
- Knowledge of GMP and food/pharma manufacturing practices.
- Ability to read and follow SOPs, batch records, and quality standards.

Pay: $21.39 - $25.76 per hour
