Overview
The Project Associate supports the coordination of capital improvement projects. This role serves as a resident-facing representative, ensuring project activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with organizational policies and procedures. The position requires strong coordination skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage interactions between residents, contractors and internal staff.
Duties
- Assist with project logistics to support timely and efficient execution of work.
- Draft and maintain accurate records related to project activities, modernization project status updates, notices, and site access.
- Post and/or deliver notices to residents regarding scheduled work, access requirements, and project updates
- Coordinate and facilitate access to buildings and residential units for contractors and project team members
- Serve as liaison between residents and project staff to ensure clear communication and minimal disruption
- Ensure contractor adherence to approved working hours, scheduled, and policies, including site access protocols and use agreements
- Report any non-compliance, safety concerns, or issues related to site conditions to project management staff
- Serve as Housing Authority representative during in-unit work activities, ensuring work is conducted respectfully and safely.
- Address resident concerns in real time and communicate resident issues to Director as needed
- Maintain strict confidentiality on restricted information.
- Travel to Housing Authority Properties as directed
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualification Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Project Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field preferred
- 1-3 years’ experience in project coordination, property management, or a related field
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to enforce and maintain professional boundaries with contractors and residents
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, tenants, and the public. This includes maintaining a positive, professional attitude in always representing the proper image of the agency.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve and maintain a satisfactory attendance record, as defined by the Attendance Policy.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE: Connecticut Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
