Job Summary
Miller Tree Service is seeking a dependable and motivated Seasonal Tree Groundsman / Equipment Operator to join our team. This position involves assisting with tree removals, pruning, storm cleanup, and general tree care operations. Applicants with experience operating chainsaws, mini skid loaders, wood chippers, aerial lifts, and knowledge of ropes, knots, and rigging are encouraged to apply. Experience is preferred but not required—we are willing to train the right individual who has a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to working safely.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with tree removals, pruning, and storm cleanup
- Operate or assist with mini skid loaders, wood chippers, and aerial lifts
- Safely operate chainsaws and other power equipment
- Perform rigging using ropes and common tree work knots
- Drag, stack, load, and process brush and logs
- Assist with equipment setup, inspections, fueling, and routine maintenance
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
- Communicate professionally with crew members and customers
Skills & Qualifications
Preferred qualifications (training available for the right candidate):
- Tree service, landscaping, construction, forestry, or outdoor labor experience
- Experience operating chainsaws safely
- Experience operating mini skid loaders, wood chippers, or aerial lifts
- Basic knowledge of ropes, knots, and rigging techniques
- Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus)
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds repeatedly
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Team-oriented with a commitment to safety
