Position: Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift Department: Maintenance
Purpose: Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks as needed on building and manufacturing tools, equipment and systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support 2nd Shift Paint Department in continuous production and overall reliability of systems including the conveyor, wash, ovens, and related E-Coat and Powder Coating equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance and general repair tasks on building systems and equipment, including minor mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding
- Monitor, schedule and document contracted preventive maintenance on overhead cranes, forklift trucks, HVAC equipment, air compressors, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, etc.
- Assist production personnel in troubleshooting and identifying causes of equipment malfunctions
- Assist production management in determining necessity of involving contracted services, such as licensed electricians, overhead crane technicians, etc., for repairs
- Assist production and engineering with design, fabrication, and/or repair of jigs, workstation modifications, etc.
Required skills and experience:
- Above average mechanical aptitude
- Associate degree or equivalent on-the-job training and experience in industrial maintenance or similar field preferred
- Competency in use of computer and software for business applications: Word, Excel, email, etc.
- Basic knowledge of AC/DC electricity, electric motors, electronic and programmable controls, etc.
- Basic knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics and related devices such as pumps, actuators, etc.
- Ability to organize information and plan tasks efficiently
- Comfortable working with heights
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively prioritize work
- Capable of working with minimal direct supervision or direction following appropriate training
- Proactively observe all relevant safety, health and environmental regulations
Hours of work:
During Training - Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm (8 hours), with occasional overtime and/or abnormal hours, as necessitated by repair or maintenance tasks.
2nd Shift – Following appropriate training period – Monday through Thursday, 4:30 pm – 3:00 am (10 hours), with scheduled overtime on Friday’s and infrequent overtime on weekends, as necessitated.
Position requires on-call responsibilities.
- Pay: Based on experience.
