Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Support cooking activities by following recipes and safety standards in production
- Help with meal assembly and plating to ensure timely food service
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Handle food items safely during storage, handling, and transportation to prevent contamination
- Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with serving as needed
- Follow all safety protocols related to food handling, sanitation, and kitchen operations to uphold high safety standards
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant environments is highly valued
- Knowledge of food safety management and proper food handling procedures
- Familiarity with menu planning and meal preparation processes
- Strong knife skills and slicing techniques for efficient food prep
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude toward learning new culinary skills
