Through the Gem State Public Health program, members will conduct needs assessments regarding collaborations and partnerships, and recruit potential partnerships as well as coordinate meetings, design training materials, and provide other support to public health agencies. Members will be trained in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Sources of Strength (SOS), and/or safeTALK. Members will coordinate ASIST, SOS and/or safeTALK trainings for community members to increase the number of suicide prevention interventionists throughout Idaho. The program will offer members academic advising and the opportunity to explore degree options that focus on public health.
Member Duties : The Coroner Aide will expand and enhance the capacity of existing public health programs and services of the Bonneville County Coroner by Helping grieving families receive proper resources including suicide prevention resources, and extending emotional and mental health support services, while modeling recovery and coping skills needed for resiliency. Duties also include: Digitalizing case reviews and performing data analysis; expanding emotional and mental health services for grieving families; providing emotional;/mental health services to grieving families at the scene; attending autopsies; attending/shadowing on calls (including suicide), and attending meetings.
