We are a busy, professional dog grooming salon looking for a reliable, friendly, and highly organized Dog Grooming Receptionist to join our team. Our receptionist is the first point of contact for our customers and plays an important role in keeping the salon running smoothly.
This position is ideal for someone who loves dogs, enjoys working with people, and can confidently multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
The Dog Grooming Receptionist will be responsible for a variety of daily tasks, including but not limited to:
- Answering incoming phone calls and assisting customers with questions
- Scheduling, rescheduling, and confirming grooming appointments
- Calling customers to schedule and follow up on appointments
- Greeting customers and providing top-tier customer service
- Checking dogs in and out of the salon
- Safely taking dogs to and from their assigned kennels
- Managing the flow of dogs coming into and leaving the salon
- Communicating clearly with customers regarding their dog's grooming services
- Interacting with customers frequently throughout the day
- Communicating with groomers and other salon staff to keep appointments running smoothly
- Keeping track of dogs in the salon and making sure they are properly accounted for
- Keeping the lobby clean, organized, and welcoming
- Maintaining a clean and professional front-desk area
- Handling customer concerns professionally and respectfully
- Processing payments and assisting with basic front-desk duties
- Helping maintain an organized and efficient salon environment
- Assisting with other salon duties as needed

- Have previous experience working with dogs — this is required
- Have excellent customer service and communication skills
- Be friendly, professional, patient, and dependable
- Be comfortable interacting with customers frequently and throughout the entire day
- Be comfortable handling and safely moving dogs
- Be able to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment
- Be able to remain calm and professional when the salon gets busy
- Have strong attention to detail
- Be punctual and dependable
- Be a team player who is willing to help wherever needed
- Be comfortable using a computer, phone, and appointment scheduling system
- Have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks at once
- Understand that working in a dog grooming salon can be physically active and fast-paced
Experience With Dogs Is Required
This is not a typical receptionist position. Our receptionist works directly around dogs every day and is responsible for helping manage dogs safely as they arrive, wait for their appointments, and leave the salon.
Candidates should be comfortable around dogs of different sizes, breeds, personalities, and energy levels.
