Responsibilities
- Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being through attentive child supervision and behavior management.
- Facilitate engaging youth group activities, including arts and crafts, outdoor games, tutoring sessions, and team-building exercises.
- Maintain a safe environment by following first aid protocols, administering basic first aid or CPR when necessary, and responding promptly to emergencies.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute outdoor work activities and camp-style experiences that foster outdoor learning and physical activity.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff regarding children’s progress, behavior, or concerns while maintaining confidentiality.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and early childhood education best practices.
- Certification in CPR, First Aid protocols, AED operation, or willingness to obtain these certifications upon hire.
- Strong classroom management skills coupled with the ability to supervise multiple children simultaneously in a safe manner.
- Experience facilitating youth group activities or tutoring young learners is advantageous.
- Ability to work outdoors comfortably during various weather conditions while engaging children in outdoor activities.
- Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude focused on fostering a supportive environment for all children.
