Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Glazing Superintendent to lead and coordinate all aspects of glazing projects within our construction teams. This pivotal role involves managing on-site operations, supervising crews, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, and delivering high-quality results on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, extensive construction site experience, and a thorough understanding of technical drawings and project scheduling. As a Glazing Superintendent, you will drive project success by overseeing daily activities, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and maintaining rigorous safety standards to ensure smooth project execution from start to finish.
Duties
- Lead and supervise glazing crews, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality craftsmanship in commercial construction projects
- Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications related to glazing systems
- Manage procurement of materials, including glass, aluminum frames, sealants, and related components, ensuring timely delivery
- Enforce OSHA standards and federal construction safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment for all team members
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality control, and compliance with project plans and safety protocols
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to review contracts, scope changes, and technical requirements
- Supervise subcontractors and labor crews on-site, providing guidance on installation techniques and safety procedures
- Oversee the review of construction drawings and technical documents to ensure clarity and accuracy before installation begins
- Maintain detailed documentation of daily activities, safety incidents, material usage, and project milestones
- Utilize construction management software for scheduling updates, progress tracking, and reporting
Experience
- Proven experience managing glazing or curtain wall projects within commercial or federal construction environments
- Extensive knowledge of construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6 or Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management (EPPM), HeavyBid
- Strong understanding of construction regulations including OSHA standards and federal safety protocols
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately
- Prior supervisory experience supervising teams in a fast-paced construction setting with a focus on quality control and safety compliance
- Skilled in managing project schedules from initial planning through completion using advanced scheduling tools
- Excellent communication skills for effective management of crews, subcontractors, clients, and stakeholders
- Familiarity with heavy equipment testing tools such as ohmmeters for electrical system inspections is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
