POSITION SUMMARY
Provide comprehensive technical skills to execute FAC P-Series Assemblies across all model types. Work includes assembly of basic mechanical sub-assemblies through precision assemblies, including turrets, arms, wrists, robots, cable installation, cable catrac, and rail assemblies. Attention to detail is mandatory.
Required Skills
Solid written and verbal communication skills on technical and non-technical topics
Knowledge of mechanical assemblies and components
Ability to read engineering documentation, prints, and/or schematics (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic)
Proficiency with hand and power tools for mechanical and pneumatic assembly
Ability to assemble gears and sealed mechanical assemblies
Familiarity with basic mechanical troubleshooting
Proficiency with precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators)
Knowledge of safety procedures (MIOSHA regulations, forklift, lockout/tagout, hazardous materials)
Disciplined, self-directed work ethic
Education & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent required
Associate degree, Technical Certificate in Applied Science, or licensed/journeyman status preferred
Basic technical training with mechanical focus (certifications a plus)
1–5 years of experience in manufacturing mechanical assembly, or equivalent (mechanical repair, construction, automotive, pneumatic, maintenance, or machine/line building)
Experience with fixtures and jigs for mechanical assembly
ISO 9001 knowledge preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES
- ResponsibilitiesTechnician Level 1 & 2Assemble mechanical sub-assemblies (turrets, arms, wrists, robots, cable catrac, rail assemblies) for P-Series products per Manufacturing Production Plans and Engineering SpecificationsMeet daily work schedule requirements to support Manufacturing Productivity goalsAccess and follow control plans, quality documents, specifications, and guidelinesEnsure product and workmanship meets FAC quality standards; verify assembly and test result data is complete and within defined rangesProperly care for and use FAC tools in compliance with Tool Management ProcedureMaintain a clean, organized work area using 5-S methodologyAdhere to FANUC Basic Safety Training and Procedures (HAZ MAT, LOCKOUT/TAGOUT, robot safety, risk assessments, PPE)Complete work orders and all related tasks in ERP systemTechnician Level 3 (all Level 1 & 2 responsibilities, plus)Hold coworkers accountable to safety and quality standardsIdentify and eliminate quality issues proactively; continuously improve process, workflow, and qualityEscalate issues to appropriate persons or groups; communicate effectively across disciplines and levelsProvide feedback on wire layouts, terminations, and related issues for custom or new products
