About the Girls We Serve
Ground Up Ministries provides faith-based support and care for the redemption and restoration of teenage girls rescued from human trafficking. The girls in our care have experienced profound trauma and often exhibit challenging behaviors as they navigate their healing journey. Many have been let down by the adults they trusted in the past, which can make building trust and relationships a slow and intentional process.
Our Approach to Care
We follow a Christ-centered approach modeled after Jesus’s example: "Come as you are." Through love, patience, and consistent support, we aim to be a light in their lives. By fostering trust, we create a space where the girls feel safe enough to begin their healing journey and are encouraged to grow and change as they draw closer to God.
What We’re Looking For
- Relational Caregivers: We need individuals who are committed to building relationships with the girls rather than adopting an authoritarian or punitive approach. Past experiences have shown us that our girls respond best to those who focus on creating a nurturing environment grounded in grace, understanding, and mutual respect.
- Prepared for Challenges: Working with girls who have endured deep trauma isn’t easy. Their past experiences can manifest in challenging behaviors, including loud or defiant reactions. We need caregivers who are resilient, patient, and skilled in navigating these moments with grace, always working toward de-escalation and healing.
What to Expect
This role requires emotional strength, a heart for ministry, and a commitment to creating a home that reflects God’s love. It’s not always easy, but it is profoundly rewarding to see the transformation that occurs when girls feel safe, loved, and supported.
