We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused Optical Manager to lead the daily operations of our optical department. The Optical Manager is responsible for delivering an exceptional patient experience while overseeing staff performance, driving sales, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with strong optical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping patients find the best vision solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the optical department.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop optical team members.
- Create staff schedules and ensure appropriate department coverage.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused work environment.
- Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and lens enhancements that meet their lifestyle and vision needs.
- Perform accurate frame adjustments, fittings, and minor repairs.
- Ensure prescriptions are processed accurately and orders are completed on time.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering of frames, lenses, and supplies.
- Maintain attractive product displays and merchandising standards.
- Monitor key performance indicators, sales goals, and profitability.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all company policies.
- Work closely with our amazing doctors to provide seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of optical experience.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmic lenses, frame styles, lens options, and optical dispensing.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with point-of-sale and optical practice management systems.
Preferred
- ABO (American Board of Opticianry) certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to perform frame adjustments and repairs.
- Ability to use computers and optical equipment throughout the workday.
Schedule
- Full-time
