The Alabama Bankruptcy Relief Center is a fast-growing consumer bankruptcy law firm representing individuals in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases throughout Alabama.
We are systems-driven, client-focused, and built around efficiency, communication, and strong courtroom representation. Our team includes dedicated intake staff, petition preparers, paralegals, and operational support so attorneys can focus on practicing law at a high level.
We are seeking an attorney with actual debtor-side consumer bankruptcy experience who can step into an active caseload and contribute quickly.
What This Role Looks Like
This is primarily a remote position with regular in-person court appearances as needed throughout the Northern District of Alabama.
The ideal candidate:
- Already understands Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 practice
- Is comfortable managing hearings and client communication
- Can work independently without constant supervision
- Wants a long-term growth opportunity within a structured firm
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy matters
- Attend hearings, contested matters, and court appearances when necessary
- Review petitions, schedules, and Chapter 13 plans
- Draft motions, objections, and responses
- Advise clients regarding bankruptcy strategy and options
- Work collaboratively with paralegals and support staff to move cases efficiently
- Maintain strong communication with clients, trustees, and opposing counsel
Requirements
- Active Alabama law license required
- Minimum 1 year of debtor-side consumer bankruptcy experience required
- Experience handling Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 matters
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and caseload independently
- Must reside within driving distance to each courthouse of the Northern District of Alabama court divisions
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience attending bankruptcy hearings independently
- Familiarity with Best Case or similar bankruptcy software
- Experience with contested matters, motions, or adversary proceedings
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
