Looking for a full time daytime custodian for a local school.
***Hours are Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM with a one hour lunch break. 40 hours per week.***
Predictable Monday through Friday schedule including paid training, looking for someone with great communication skills who takes pride in their work.
What You’ll Do:
As a Day Porter Specialist, your role is vital to maintaining a healthy learning environment. Your responsibilities include:
- Communicate with school employees and Eastside Cleaning Service management throughout the day.
- Clean and reset the lunch room and kitchen between lunch periods.
- Respond promptly for any school time incidents requiring assistance including spills, accidents, and unexpected cleaning requests.
- Keep janitorial closets clean, organized, and properly stocked of supplies.
- Remove any trash and recycling and replace liners as needed.
- Cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, entrances, common areas, and other assigned spaces to the highest standards.
- Keeping outside entrances and school grounds clean of litter and debris.
- Use commercial cleaning equipment and products safely.
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, supply needs, or unusual conditions to management.
- Follows all company and school health and safety procedures.
- Working independently and collaboratively to complete tasks efficiently.

- Background Check: All candidates must pass a background check to work in a school setting.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical cleaning duties throughout the shift.
Qualifications
- Proven custodial or janitorial experience with a strong understanding of commercial cleaning procedures is a plus.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and sanitation tools. (We train on all of our equipment).
- Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and proper usage of cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting techniques.
- Experience in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Commitment to safety protocol adherence and maintaining a clean, hazard-free environment.
What Success looks like in this position:
A successful day porter does more than complete a checklist. They notice spills, empty dispensers, overflowing trash, dirty entrances, and other concerns before someone has to ask. The communicate clearly, respond professionally, and consistently leave the school cleaner and safer than they found it.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
