We are seeking a dependable and motivated ophthalmic technician to join our practice. Experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right applicant.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Address all patients with the level of respect and professionalism required by this practice

Obtain patient history to include chief compliant, history of present illness, past history (ocular and general), family history (ocular and general), and history of allergies and medications.

Perform accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks to include:
- Visual Acuity

Manual Lensometry
-
Confrontational Visual Fields
-
Refraction
-
Stereo testing
-
Evaluation of Motility
-
Pupillary function tests
-
Color Plates
-
Applanation tonometry
-
Humphrey Visual Field Testing
-
Optical coherence Tomography
-
Photography (Fundus & External)
-
Perform duties consistent with ophthalmic scribe with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

Maintain efficient patient flow through each step of the patient work-up, including testing, screening, and eye exam.

Seek advice from more senior staff as necessary, never performing beyond capabilities

Maintain stock levels and cleanliness of exam lanes

Perform other duties, as required.

Physical Demands of the Job:

Requires prolonged standing, frequent sitting, bending, stooping and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Requires normal range of vision and hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, telephone, lab blocker, lab edger, lens meter, fine motor function for mounting lenses into metal or plastic frames

Ability to operate fax machine, photocopier, calculator and other office equipment, as needed.
- Extended amount of time with noise requires ability to work under stressful conditions; may require working irregular hours occasionally.
