Maintenance Assistant
Wedgewood Rehab in Spencerport and The Brook at High Falls in Rochester, NY are seeking a dependable and hardworking Maintenance Assistant to help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the facility
- Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and general repairs
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests
- Maintain grounds, equipment, and building appearance
- Ensure compliance with safety, fire, and Department of Health regulations
- Assist with emergency maintenance needs as required
Qualifications:
- Previous maintenance experience preferred (long-term care experience is a plus)
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work
