Stodtmeister Iron is hiring a Shop Manager to join our team in Sparks, NV. We fabricate and install structural and ornamental steel throughout Nevada and California. Since 1977, we have built our reputation on quality, craftsmanship, and doing what we say.
We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, and capable of leading a fabrication team in a fast paced environment. This role is ideal for someone who can read steel prints confidently, lead by example, communicate well with crews and management, and help drive efficiency throughout the shop.

What You Will Do
- Lead and manage daily shop operations and fabrication personnel
- Coordinate workflow and help keep projects on schedule
- Read and interpret steel prints, blueprints, and fabrication drawings
- Train, mentor, and develop fabricators and shop personnel
- Communicate with project managers, field crews, and other departments regarding project needs and scheduling
- Help maintain quality control and ensure projects meet specifications
- Identify bottlenecks and opportunities for process improvement
- Assist with employee evaluations, hiring, and team development
- Help enforce safety standards and maintain a clean, organized shop
- Support and encourage LEAN manufacturing, 5S culture, and one-piece flow practices
What We Are Looking For
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication prints and blueprints
- Management or leadership experience in a fabrication or construction environment
- Highly organized with strong problem solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong communication and team leadership skills
- Experience with structural and ornamental steel fabrication
- Ability to work independently and lead crews with minimal supervision
- Strong focus on quality, accountability, and professionalism
- Welding certifications, OSHA 30, equipment certifications, and First Aid/CPR certifications are preferred
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required

Shift Hours:
Monday – Thursday 6:00am - 2:30pm with possible overtime

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
