Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and responsible Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will operate various types of vehicles, including buses and paratransit vehicles, to safely transport passengers across designated routes. Duties
- Safely operate buses, school buses, paratransit vehicles, and <PERSON> drivers in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies
- Transport passengers efficiently along scheduled routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, providing support to children, seniors, or individuals with disabilities as needed
- Communicate clearly with passengers, dispatchers, and team members using effective English or multilingual communication skills
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure mechanical safety and report any issues promptly
- Maintain accurate records of trips, passenger counts, and safety checks
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and managing behavior positively
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for bus or paratransit operation
- Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or school bus driving preferred
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities
- Knowledge of vehicle mechanics and basic troubleshooting to identify mechanical issues early
- Experience working with children or providing childcare is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to manage behavior effectively and ensure passenger safety at all times
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with transportation regulations
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as assisting passengers and performing vehicle inspections
