Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist (Bilingual English & Spanish Preferred)

Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant to join our practice. Phlebotomy is the primary responsibility of this position, while assisting with front office duties when needed. Previous Medical Assistant experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates professionalism, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in Internal Medicine and Primary Care while working alongside experienced providers in a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Clinical Duties
- Perform venipuncture and blood draws.
- Obtain and document vital signs.
- Prepare patients for examinations.
- Assist physicians during patient visits.
- Perform EKGs.
- Administer injections (if certified).
- Accurately document patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Review medications and medical history.
- Prepare and process laboratory specimens.
- Clean and stock exam rooms.
- Maintain patient confidentiality while following HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
- Front Office Duties (As Needed)
- Check patients in and out.
- Schedule appointments.
- Verify insurance information.
- Answer incoming phone calls.
- Collect co-pays.
- Assist with patient paperwork.
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism.
- Help support the front office team during busy periods.
Qualifications
- Required
- Strong phlebotomy skills or experience performing venipuncture.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced medical office.
- Preferred
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist is preferred but not required.
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA) is preferred but not required.
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is a plus. We can teach as well.
- Experience performing EKGs is a plus.
- Experience with insurance verification and referrals is a plus.
- Internal Medicine or Primary Care experience is a plus.
- Experience with Practice Fusion EMR is a plus.

Schedule
- Part-time with the opportunity to transition or Full-time based on performance and office needs.
- Monday through Friday
- 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- No weekends
Pay
$15.00–$18.00 per hour, based on experience.
