Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring to ensure readiness for cooking and plating
- Assist in assembling menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Support the cooking process by following instructions from chefs and kitchen managers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, utensils, and storage areas in compliance with food safety regulations
- Handle food safely by adhering to proper handling procedures and sanitation practices
- Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of low supplies
- Support catering events or special meal preparations as needed to ensure timely service
Experience
- Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn is highly valued
- Kitchen or restaurant experience demonstrating familiarity with food preparation and handling techniques
- Knowledge of menu planning, food safety standards, and proper knife skills is a plus
- Experience in food service or the food industry that highlights your ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of food handling procedures, sanitation practices, and safety protocols
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining a positive attitude
