Position Overview
The Route Operations Specialist is responsible for delivering to and servicing assigned store accounts. This role focuses on driving sales growth, improving sell-through, maintaining in-store presentation, while strengthening customer relationships across all assigned locations.
Compensation for this role is $30 per hour, plus substantial performance-based bonuses tied to sales and sell-through metrics.
Note that this is a seasonal position. Operating schedule will include work from March to December each year. Two positions are available for only March to July.
Essential Responsibilities
- Visit assigned grocery store customers for the purpose of selling products and expanding program placement.
- Negotiate with customers regarding product placement, space allocation, assortment mix, merchandising standards, and promotional opportunities.
- Grow assigned routes by increasing product volume, improving sell-through rates, and maximizing overall program performance.
- Prepare, stock, and merchandise products to facilitate sales and ensure strong visual presentation.
- Maintain consistent execution across all assigned stores.
- Ensure all safety processes and procedures are followed at all times.
- Drive a company-owned 26’ straight truck to and from multiple customer stops throughout the day and deliver product into and out of retail locations as required.
- Ensure compliance with all DOT rules and regulations and coordinate with the Transportation Compliance Officer as needed.
- Attend required sales meetings, trainings, and company events.
- Maintain flexibility and willingness to work extended schedules, including up to a six-day workweek during peak seasonal periods.
- Keep shelves, displays, and sales areas clean, organized, and visually appealing.
- Assemble and disassemble display racks, displays, and promotional materials such as signage and banners.
- Clean, maintain, and sanitize the interior of the assigned company vehicle.
Minimum Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–3 years of customer service, route sales, merchandising, or grocery servicing experience preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must meet Federal DOT eligibility requirements, including appropriate licensing and medical certification.
- Driving history review and successful completion of a pre-employment road test required, in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier regulations.

Working Conditions
- Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Frequently exposed to extreme heat and cold, wet or humid conditions, and varying weather conditions.
Risk & Safety Conditions
- Regular driving of a company-owned 26’ straight truck between customer locations.
- Lifting, carrying, and transporting product into and out of retail environments.
- Regular truck liftgate usage to load and unload rolling carts of product.
Essential Physical Activities
- This is a physically demanding role requiring long periods on feet and frequent travel between locations.
- Ability to climb, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
- Frequent walking, sitting, close and distance vision, manual dexterity, and effective communication.
- Use of equipment such as carts and trays to unload and move products throughout stores.
Pay: $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 60.0 per week
