Outside Sales Representative – Custom Architectural Millwork

This position combines a base salary of $75,000–$85,000 with monthly commission based on actual gross profit, monthly proposal bonuses, and additional onboarding incentives.

We're looking for an Outside Sales Representative whose primary focus is developing new business. This is not an account management position, and it isn't an inside sales role waiting for the phone to ring. Your job is to identify opportunities, build relationships, develop proposals, and convert those opportunities into profitable orders.

What You'll Do
- Prospect for new customers through calls, visits, networking, referrals, and other business development activities.
- Identify qualified project opportunities and develop relationships with key decision makers.
- Meet with clients to understand project requirements and recommend custom moulding and architectural millwork solutions.
- Define project scope by selecting appropriate moulding profiles and quantities.
- Perform project takeoffs using architectural drawings or on-site measurements.
- Develop accurate proposals using our proprietary pricing software.
- Present proposals, negotiate details, and convert opportunities into profitable orders.
- Stay involved through order placement while working closely with our engineering, estimating, and production teams to ensure a smooth handoff.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and actively manage your sales pipeline.
- The majority of your time should be spent prospecting, meeting with new clients, and developing opportunities.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and comfortable creating opportunities where none previously existed. You don't need decades of custom millwork experience, but you do need to enjoy learning technical products and helping customers solve problems.
- Outside sales or business development experience
- Experience in residential construction, architectural products, building materials, millwork, windows, doors, or related industries
- Confidence approaching new prospects through cold outreach, jobsite visits, referrals, and networking
- The ability to read architectural drawings and perform basic project takeoffs
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the region
Candidates with established relationships within the Pacific Northwest residential construction industry and the ability to contribute quickly may be considered for compensation at the upper end of the salary range.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $75,000–$85,000 annually, depending on relevant experience and the ability to contribute immediately within our target market.
