Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and responsible Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. Duties
- Safely operate dump trucks equipped with manual transmissions, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers to transport materials such as gravel, sand, debris, or hazardous goods.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using manual handling techniques and ensure proper securing of freight according to logistics cargo handling standards.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines.
- Maintain compliance with hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods or hazardous substances, including proper documentation and safety procedures.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns; report any deficiencies promptly.
- Follow all safety protocols related to truck loading/unloading, hazardous materials handling, and over-the-road (OTR) driving routes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site managers regarding delivery schedules, route adjustments, or cargo issues.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly with tractor-trailers or dump trucks operating on route driving schedules.
- Demonstrated knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, hazard communication standards, and hazardous materials regulations.
- Prior delivery driving experience involving freight transport across long distances or OTR routes is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient logistics cargo handling.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks related to truck loading/unloading safely and efficiently.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type and cargo being transported; experience with manual transmission preferred.
- Strong understanding of truck driving safety standards including DOT regulations and hazard mitigation procedures.
