Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mat Repair Laborer. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing, restoring, and conducting quality inspections on heavy-duty wood mats. Your energetic approach and strong work ethic will contribute to the smooth operation of our facility, ensuring safety, efficiency, and high-quality results.
Pay & Schedule
- Training (Week 1 - Day Shift): Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM ($16.00/hr)
- Permanent Schedule (2nd Shift): Monday – Thursday, 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM ($17.00/hr)
- Enjoy a consistent 4-day work week with 3-day weekends off! Overtime availability required as production demands.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the repair, restoration, and maintenance of heavy-duty wood mats through precise cutting, drilling, and doweling.
- Safely operate power tools (skill saws, drills, impact drivers) and heavy hand tools (pickaxes, hammers) to perform restoration tasks.
- Conduct thorough quality inspections on finished wood mats to ensure structural integrity and compliance with specifications.
- Operate a forklift as needed to transport materials and finished mats throughout the work area.
- Strictly follow all safety protocols, workplace safety regulations, and proper material handling procedures.
- Perform heavy lifting and assist with the movement of timber and materials around the facility.
- Cross-train and support other team members in adjacent departments to maintain operational flow.
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse, heavy industrial, or construction laborer role preferred.
- Direct hands-on experience and comfort operating power tools (drills, skill saws, impact drivers) and hand tools (pickaxes, hammers).
- Forklift experience or certification is a major plus.
- Understanding of workplace safety regulations and ability to adhere strictly to safety protocols during all tasks.
- Strong attention to detail, physical stamina for heavy lifting, and a safety-focused mindset.
- Reliable attendance and flexibility to work 2nd shift hours and overtime as needed.
