andscape Operations Manager
We are looking for an experienced, dependable, and highly organized Landscape Operations Manager to oversee our daily field operations and landscape crews. This position requires someone who has hands-on experience in the landscaping industry and is confident managing employees, organizing job sites, solving problems, and keeping projects moving efficiently.
The right candidate should be a strong leader who understands what needs to happen on a landscape job without needing constant direction. You must be comfortable making decisions, holding crews accountable, communicating expectations, and making sure work is completed correctly, safely, and on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee multiple landscape crews and daily field operations
- Organize crews, job assignments, equipment, materials, and daily schedules
- Make sure crews understand the scope of work before beginning each project
- Visit job sites and monitor quality, productivity, and progress
- Keep projects moving and identify problems before they cause delays
- Provide direction and solutions when issues arise in the field
- Hold employees accountable for attendance, performance, workmanship, and company standards
- Communicate with company leadership regarding project progress, scheduling, staffing, and job-site concerns
- Make sure crews properly care for company trucks, trailers, tools, and equipment
- Ensure jobs are completed according to plans, estimates, and company expectations
- Maintain a professional and organized work environment
- Enforce company policies and job-site safety procedures
- Help train and develop crew leaders and employees
- Communicate professionally with customers when needed
Requirements
- Previous landscaping or landscape construction experience is required
- Previous experience managing or running landscape crews is strongly preferred
- Must be confident leading employees and making decisions in the field
- Must have a strong understanding of landscape installation and/or maintenance operations
- Must be able to look at a job and understand what needs to be done, what materials and equipment are needed, and how to properly direct the crew
- Must be extremely dependable, responsible, and punctual
- Must have strong organizational and time-management skills
- Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with employees, management, and customers
- Must be comfortable holding employees accountable and addressing performance issues
- Must be able to manage multiple jobs and crews at the same time
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be willing to work outdoors and be present in the field as needed
