Job Summary

Duties
- Prepare ingredients according to standardized recipes, including slicing, dicing, and portioning vegetables, meats, and other components
- Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients needed for daily specials and regular offerings
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of all food items
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, ovens, and fryers safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning and sanitizing
- Support the cooking team during meal preparation by assembling dishes according to specifications
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure timely service
Skills
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary fundamentals
- Excellent knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for various ingredients
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency in meal quality
- Experience with catering or restaurant food service enhances your ability to handle high-volume prep work
- Effective communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with kitchen staff and support team efforts
