Bethalto Community Unit School District No. 8 is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Assistant Girls Tennis Coach at Civic Memorial High School for the upcoming season. This seasonal position supports the Head Coach in developing student-athletes' tennis skills, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship, and creating a positive and competitive program. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with high school students and committed to fostering personal growth both on and off the court.

Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices, drills, and match preparation.

Provide instruction on tennis fundamentals, techniques, strategies, and sportsmanship.

Support the development of players of all skill levels through encouragement and constructive feedback.

Assist with supervising practices, matches, tournaments, and team travel as needed.

Help promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive team culture.

Encourage student-athletes to demonstrate strong character, academic responsibility, and good sportsmanship.

Communicate effectively with the Head Coach, players, parents, and school staff.

Assist with equipment organization, court setup, and other program-related responsibilities.

Support the overall goals and expectations of the CMHS girls tennis program.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.

Previous tennis playing or coaching experience is preferred.

Knowledge of tennis rules, techniques, and strategies.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to motivate and positively mentor high school student-athletes.

Strong organizational and teamwork skills.

Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends during the tennis season.

First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.

Must meet all IHSA and Bethalto Community Unit School District No. 8 coaching requirements.
