Job Overview
Gielow Pickles, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment within our production facility. This role is critical to ensuring efficient production, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on production and facility equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Conduct preventative maintenance according to established schedules
- Diagnose equipment issues and implement timely, effective solutions
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
- Assist in installation and setup of new equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, GMPs, and company policies
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and improve efficiency
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and tools
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or food production environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems; electrical experience is a plus
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Basic computer skills; experience with ERP or maintenance tracking systems is beneficial
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work performed in a production environment with exposure to varying temperatures, moisture, and noise
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- May require working at heights or in confined spaces
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time position with a standard 50-hour work week
- Overtime may be required based on production needs
- Pay range is based on experience and reflects a 50-hour work week
