Position Overview:
The Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) in Salem, Oregon, is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Business Liaison to foster connections between students, staff, industry professionals, and professional organizations. This role is integral to supporting career development initiatives and ensuring students have meaningful industry engagement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison between students, staff, and industry professionals to enhance career development strategies.
- Identify, research, and recruit industry professionals within targeted sectors, job functions, and specialized skill sets to support CTEC programs.
- Organize and facilitate quarterly Industry Advisory Committee (IAC) meetings for assigned programs, including agenda creation, invitations, meeting moderation, and the ongoing development of IAC structures.
- Coordinate on-site industry presentations and hands-on demonstrations in classrooms, kitchens, and labs to provide students with real-world learning experiences.
- Collaborate with the Business Liaison team to plan and execute key events, including Pathways Night (October) and the Hiring Fair (May), ensuring meaningful industry engagement across all CTEC programs.
- Provide tours and networking opportunities for industry professionals interested in CTEC’s programs.
- Maintain accurate records of industry-related activities and prepare monthly reports.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with business leaders, educators, and students.
- Highly self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing shifting priorities, schedules, and timelines.
- Comfortable facilitating meetings, moderating discussions, and building industry partnerships.
- Event planning and coordination experience preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is preferred.

- Salary Range: $45,000 – $49,000 per year
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Work Location: In-person at CTEC, Salem, OR
