We are seeking a reliable and skilled Pizzaiolo / Prep Cook to join our fast-paced rodizio-style restaurant. This role is responsible for preparing high-quality pizzas using a stone oven while supporting overall kitchen prep operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with dough handling, oven management, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook pizzas using a stone oven, ensuring consistent quality and presentation
- Assist with daily food prep, including dough preparation, sauces, toppings, and ingredient portioning
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the walk-in cooler, including proper labeling, rotation (FIFO), and storage
- Support inventory management by assisting with ordering and tracking ingredient levels
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, prep areas, and cooking stations
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely food service
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with a stone oven
- Previous experience in a prep cook or similar kitchen role
- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in a hot kitchen environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a rodizio or high-volume restaurant setting
- Familiarity with inventory systems and ordering processes
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
