Multi-craft Maintenance Technician
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Shift: 1st & 3rd Shift
Pay: $30–$43/hr (DOE)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Multi-craft Maintenance Technician to support a high-volume Food manufacturing facility in Indianapolis. This role focuses on maintaining production uptime by troubleshooting, repairing, and improving automated processing and packaging equipment in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on food production and packaging equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Work on conveyors, mixers, fillers, packaging lines, palletisers, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and automated production systems.
- Diagnose equipment failures and complete timely repairs to minimise downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, PLC logic, and mechanical drawings.
- Support PLC troubleshooting (Allen Bradley systems preferred).
- Complete CMMS work orders and support preventative maintenance schedules.
- Assist with equipment installation, upgrades, and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, and plant safety standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years industrial maintenance experience (Food & Beverage preferred).
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.
- Experience with high-speed packaging lines, conveyors, and process equipment.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
- Basic PLC troubleshooting experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of motors, drives, gearboxes, bearings, chains, and pumps.
- Experience working in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
