Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Line Cook to join our team. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to our menu specifications. Your culinary expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the overall success of our kitchen operations.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with established recipes and menu specifications
- Ensure that all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, following proper food handling and safety guidelines
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance of kitchen equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to sanitation guidelines
- Portion product so correct amount of food is served per meal
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a culinary or kitchen environment is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Skills:
- Culinary skills: Proficient in various cooking techniques, including sautéing, grilling, baking, etc.
- Kitchen knowledge: Familiarity with different kitchen equipment, utensils, and tools
- Dietary department understanding: Knowledge of dietary restrictions and special diets
- Food safety: Understanding of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Food industry experience: Previous work experience in the food service industry
- Knife skills: Ability to safely handle and use knives for food preparation
- Food service: Experience in a restaurant or similar food service setting
- Cook: Proficient in cooking a variety of dishes
