Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring to support the kitchen’s meal preparation needs
- Assist in assembling dishes according to specified recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including proper food handling and storage practices
- Support cooking activities by following established procedures for food safety and sanitation
- Help with food service operations during busy hours, including plating and serving meals when needed
- Follow menu plans and assist with catering or special event preparations as required
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly for optimal performance
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, including knife skills and meal assembly
- Experience working in restaurants or the food industry demonstrating proficiency in cooking and food handling
- Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of menu planning, catering, and serving is a plus
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward collaboration and learning
