Location: Yuba City Area (In Office)
An established construction company is seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of multiple business entities. This is a high-level role that works directly with ownership and is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of accounting, financial reporting, payroll, compliance, and business operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting, including AP, AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger
- Prepare monthly financial statements, cash flow reports, and support budgeting
- Maintain job costing and project accounting within QuickBooks Enterprise
- Process payroll and assist with payroll tax reporting and workers' compensation
- Oversee customer billing, collections, and vendor payments
- Assist with contract administration, lien releases, insurance renewals, and compliance reporting
- Coordinate with CPAs, banks, insurance providers, and other outside partners
- Support accounting operations for multiple business entities and assist ownership with financial analysis and special projects
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Advanced QuickBooks Enterprise experience required
- Experience with job costing and project accounting
- Payroll processing experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- Certified payroll and prevailing wage experience
- Public works or government contract experience
- Multi-entity accounting experience
- Insurance audit and compliance experience
