Duties
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and offer assistance with products or store services
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with precision
- Upsell related products and promote current promotions to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain organized checkout counters by stocking supplies and merchandising displays
- Assist with stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and ensuring the store remains tidy and inviting
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering procedures in a retail or grocery store setting
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual environments if applicable
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude
