Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, cognitive and faith development. This role involves implementing age-appropriate curricula, managing classroom activities, and supporting children's individual needs to promote a positive educational experience. Experience in early childhood education, classroom management, and curriculum development is highly valued. The Preschool Teacher will play a vital role in shaping the foundational skills of our students and supporting their overall growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and learning.
- Manage daily classroom activities, including circle time, arts and crafts, physical education, and storytime.
- Support children's social-emotional development through behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Assess individual student progress through observations, assessments, and standardized testing when applicable.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and address individual needs or concerns.
- Incorporate literacy education, math skills, early intervention strategies, and special education practices as needed to support diverse learners.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental milestones, and other required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote child welfare at all times.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with preschool-aged children is required; experience with toddlers is a plus.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and practices related to early intervention, special education, and behavior management.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management techniques, and supporting growth in all areas of development: cognitive, physical, social, emotional, communication, and spiritual.
- Experience working in daycare settings is desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, and children.
