FULL TIME LAUNDRY ASSOCIATE POSITION:
MUST HAVE FLEXIBLE AVAILABILITY INCLUDING MORNINGS, NIGHTS, AND WEEEKNDS
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.:
- Loads articles into washer and adds specified amount of detergent, soap, or other cleaning agent.
- Starts machine that automatically washes and rinses articles.
- Lifts clean, wet articles from washer and places them into dryers for measured time cycles.
- Sorts dried articles according to identification system. Folds, counts, and distributes items to appropriate locations.
- Presses/irons garments as instructed.
- Sorts and counts articles to verify quantities.
- Cleans work area and equipment.
- Complies with safety procedures, state sanitation standards and state regulations of long term care facilities.
- Washes and rehangs drapes and cubicle curtains.
- Follows confidentiality requirements and residents’ rights at all times.
- Follows safety regulations, infection control, and standard precaution procedures at all times.
- Performs all duties in a manner consistent with the age specific competencies as described for members of the laundry staff.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
- Knowledge of infection control standards.
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the general public.
- Ability to report to work regularly and promptly.
- Ability to work beyond normal hours when necessary.:
